Our aim is to provide you with valuable content centered around cultural competencies and how they can be embraced within organizations. We have curated six months worth of thought-provoking questions related to the monthly discussion topic. Each month, we will focus on a different aspect of cultural competency to help you facilitate these conversations within your own teams. These questions can be used as a starting point for your team discussions, helping to deepen your understanding and encourage constructive dialogue. We look forward to inspiring conversations and positive change together.

“At-a-Glance” Equity Alignment Lens

The potential benefits of taking a more equity-focused approach to our organizations’ policies, practices, and culture are undeniable. Using an Equity Alignment Lens can create opportunities to identify and address systemic issues that may contribute to inequities for individuals and communities and may help deepen our organizations’ impact. But what does an equity lens look like? And why might we consider using this in our businesses or organizations? This “At-a-Glance” provides an introduction and broad overview.

Equity Alignment Lens & Guide

If you have been engaged in any diversity, equity, and inclusion work or broader conversations, you have likely heard the term equity lens. Yet, there is still a tremendous amount of confusion as to how organizations can leverage it as a tool in their work. Culture Principles developed the Equity Alignment Lens in response to clients’ desire to increase equity in their thinking, and their need to determine where exactly to start.

Navigating Cultural Differences

As workplace communities become more diverse, you are more likely to encounter colleagues, clients, and volunteers from various backgrounds. We view this as an enriching experience that often fosters increased creativity and better solutions as we learn from other’s perspectives. While there are benefits to engaging across differences, there can also be challenges as we learn to work together effectively.

As you reflect on workplace dynamics and situations you may encounter, we encourage you to consider these strategies.
